Facebook Ads: How to Get Rid of Trolls Forever
While you’re trying to build your online business empire — you’re publishing content, creating ads and doing positive things for yourself and others. However, there is one thing, which can easily get you in negative territory and suck all your energy. Worst of it – it is a recurring phenomenon.
It is the trolls!
Negative comments, comments made in bad taste will not only ruin your messaging via your Facebook Ad or Facebook post but also deter others from taking action. Imagine if you ran an ad and the comments, which show up in the ad are like “this is a scam.” It is hard to sell or convey your message if there are comments like these.
Recently we ran a Facebook ad and a couple of comments were in bad taste. By bad taste, I mean the people, who made these comments did not even understand the product and went on to say negative things about the same. Negative comments are sometimes good because they will help you improve but negative comments made in bad taste are not good. If someone takes the pain to understand your message via Facebook ad or post and then has negative things to say, you can understand and try to improve but there are some people, who have so much hatred in them that just keep posting negative things through the day.
Here is the Facebook ad that I was referring to:
After these negative comments, I had to suspend the campaign and restart, which cost me time and money. But you cannot do this every time. So, what can do to avoid such trolls forever?
How to Get Rid of Trolls in your Facebook Ads
Instead of getting upset about trolls and negative comments, you should use the tricks and tools provided by Facebook to get back to trolls.
I feel great when I see someone post a negative comment and the comment never got approved :-). If the comment is long, it feels really good to imagine that person having spent a lot of time writing that comment and the comment never got published. 😛
Here is how you can get rid of trolls forever from your Facebook Ad or Facebook post:
- Go to your Page via Business Manager or from your Facebook account.
- Go to Settings and locate Page Moderation.
- Add words, which you want to avoid.
Best is to create a CSV file in which you can add negative comments and keep building it and upload to all of your Facebook pages.
There are words you can use like: scam, fraud, shit, fake etc.
What this setting will do is that it will not automatically publish those comments, which have any of these comments.
If you’d like to use the latest version of our CSV file, use the below form:
What this will do is send 99% of the negative comments into moderation, which is great because it will save you a great deal of time dealing with negative comments and their impact.
Do remember that the intention is to have a positive conversation via your Facebook post and ads and not just avoid all the comments that you get.
Hope you like it. Let us know in the comments section below if you have any more suggestions that can be added to the list.
